Fund treatment for neglected tropical diseases

The END Fund regrants donor money to local implementing partners running mass drug administration programmes against neglected tropical diseases — schistosomiasis, soil-transmitted helminths, river blindness and trachoma — across Africa and beyond. It was a GiveWell Top Charity for its deworming programme from 2016 to 2022; GiveWell states its 2022 removal from the list reflected a change in evaluation criteria, not a negative update on the organisation.

Our take

Worth being upfront that this is no longer a current GiveWell Top Charity, after six years on the list through 2022 — GiveWell attributes the removal to a criteria change rather than a quality concern, but we'd rather state that plainly than imply ongoing top-charity status. We could not independently load end.org this round (it returned a 403 response both times we checked), so the URL reflects the organisation's own published donate address.
