Humanitarian aid

Support people forced to flee

The Norwegian Refugee Council is an independent humanitarian organisation helping people forced to flee conflict and disaster, reaching close to 9 million people worldwide in 2024. Well over 90% of NRC's total income is used directly to support people forced to flee. NRC also runs legal-aid programmes helping displaced people recover lost property and documentation.

Our take

Well over 90% of income going directly to people forced to flee is one of the stronger ratios among the humanitarian options here, worth weighing if that efficiency matters to your decision. Running legal-aid programmes to help displaced people recover lost documentation is also a less visible but practical part of the work, beyond shelter and food.
